Dukan Diet Phase 2: Cruise PhaseCongratulation! You manage to pass the first Dukan phase and to arrive in the second one, the Dukan Diet Phase 2 :Cruise. We will continue to lose weight with the Cruise phase.

As I mentioned in the first phase, each Dukan phase it’s important, so we will continue with the second one.

Dukan Diet Phase 2: CRUISE

This phase is a mixture between two diets, pure protein foods (like in the Attack phase) and protein combined with vegetables. We spoke about the protein diet during the Attach phase, so we will focus more about the diet of protein combined with vegetables.

Alternation of the protein diet with protein – vegetable diet

Depending on the kilos that you want to lose, can be from 1 with 1 (meaning 1 day protein diet and the next one protein – vegetable diet) till 5 with 5 (meaning 5 days protein diet and the next 5 days protein – vegetable diet).

Let’s do a summary of the alternation of the diets, according with the kilos the must be lost.

  • lose weight more than 10 kilos – this persons can try the 5 with 5 days program. Meaning after 5 days of pure protein diet will take 5 days of protein-vegetable diet, and so on. But, for those will work also the 1 with 1 day diet program and will be much easier to take.
  •  lose weight less than 10 kilos – in this case it is recommended to take 5 with 5 days program. The weight loss will be done much faster.
  • lose weight less than 5 kilos – in this case we will go with another program, for those that do not need to lose too much kilos, the 2 with 7 days program, meaning 2 days of pure protein diet and after 7 days of protein-vegetable diet.
  • lose weight less than 2 kilos – in this case we will go with the program of 2 with 0, meaning 2 days of pure protein diet (Monday and Thursday) and the rest of the days normal diet, without excesses.

Duration of the Dukan Diet Phase 2

The period of this phase can be different from person to person, depending how much you want to lose weight.

  •  lose weight more than 20 kilos – you have to take this phase till 20 weeks (almost 5 months),
  • lose weight less than 5 kilos – you have to take this phase till 3 weeks,
  • lose weight between 5 and 20 – you have to take the phase from 3 till 20 weeks, depending how much you want to lose weight ( to have an idea, it is almost 1 kilo per weeks).

Dukan Diet Phase 2 Allowed Foods

During the Dukan diet phase 2 food you will alternate 2 diets, the pure protein diet and protein-vegetable diet.

Category 1: The foods allowed in the Attack phase

  • All the foods from 10 categories allowed in the Attack phase can be eaten also during the Cruise phase, when is the time of the Protein diet

Category 2: Vegetables

  •  Raw vegetables: when is the time of protein combined with vegetables diet you can eat raw tomatoes, cucumbers, radishes, spinach, asparagus, leeks, green beans, cabbage, mushrooms, celery, fennel, all types of lettuce including endive, eggplant, zucchini, peppers. Are also permitted carrots and beets but with the condition to not eat at each meal. Also, it is forbidden to use oil, for salads do a dressing of 0% fat yogurt.
  • Cooked vegetables: you can eat then grilled, boiled but is forbidden to use oil or butter.

Dukan Diet Phase 2 advices

  •  Eat only the allowed foods and alternate the protein diet and the protein combined with vegetable diet,
  • Drink 1,5 liters of water per day,
  • Eat daily one and a half spoon with oatmeal,
  • Every day do 30 minutes of exercises (gymnastic, running, walking, etc.),
  • The oil and butter are forbidden. For salads use 0% fat Yogurt dressing,
  • It is not allowed to eat starch vegetables, such as potatoes, rice, corn, peas, beans and lentils. Also the avocado is not allowed because is extremely fat.
  • This phase is the most sensitive one, with the danger of gaining all the kilos back, even more if you do not respect it. If you will fill the need to renounce at this phase, don’t do it, just go to the next phase (Consolidation phase), this way you will not be in danger to gain back the kilos.
